The Benefits of Good Ventilation

Good ventilation design helps ensure proper control of heat, air dilution, exhaust of contaminated air and adequate fresh air supply for people occupying the space. Good ventilation will make personnel more comfortable and efficient while allowing machinery to function more efficiently. Listed below is a general guide for recommended air changes.

For control of hazardous materials or odors, hoods or exhaust openings should be located near the source of the contaminant (if possible) to obtain the benefit of “spot ventilation.”

Louver Selection & Application:

Up-blast Propeller Fans

Roof mounted up-blast fans are available with belt or direct drive and are designed to discharge air up and away from the building to prevent recirculation. These fans are low in cost and provide high performance and durability.

Side Wall Propeller Fans

Wall mounted belt or direct drive fans are designed to exhaust high volumes of air at low static pressures. These are an excellent choice for general comfort ventilation.

Centrifugal Fans

These roof mounted belt or direct drive fans exhaust relatively clean air from the space both efficiently and economically. A common application is to provide ductwork to the building floor to allow for low exhaust inlets for specific exhaust needs. These fans may also be used without ductwork.

Wall Mounted Intake Louvers

These air intake devices provide a minimum of resistance to airflow while presenting an architecturally pleasing appearance. This product is available with both fixed and movable louvers and is designed to protect openings by incorporating drainable blades.

Roof-Mounted Gravity Intake Hoods

Gravity intake hoods provide maximum performance and high weather resistance with a low roof profile. Interlocking seams on the hood structure prevent the entry of moisture.

All of these roof-mounted products perform best for the owner and contractor when they are installed on metal roofs using Roof Curb Systems US patented Trac Rail Roof Penetrations System. Call our highly professional staff today for more details and pricing.
